The Retriever is a tow recovery vehicle based on a Honda Goldwing Motorcycle that has been built to recover most types of passenger cars.

The basic principal of a motorcycle having superior agility over a car or truck based towing platform has been preserved in order to minimize the time immediately wasted as traffic begins to congest after a breakdown.

The Retriever is easily transforms from  motorcycle to a motorcycle based tow recovery vehicle.

Designed for single operator use the Retriever is transformed from a motorcycle to a recovery vehicle in about  a minute . The brilliant design allows for all operation to be made by hand by the operator. The Retreiver features a handheld remote control makes it possible for the operator to keep an eye on the traffic whilst the tow is underway.

This masterpiece is what you get when you wedge what is reputedly the most charismatic Italian engine ever produced and a Harley Davidson four speed gearbox into a Kraftek custom motorcycle frame.

Amazingly the 2.5 V6 Alfa Romeo engined beast aptly named the “Alfabeast” is kickstart only !

This “Alfa Bike” was designed and built by Chris Barber from Crossbreed Cycles and recently sold on Ebay. 

The engine itself is the 60 degree Alloy V6 cast, with a wet sump with a external oil pump – there is a seperate exhaust pipes for each of the six cylinders, a pair of Weber downdraft carbs, and customised Kawasaki front forks, and brake assembly.

The Alfa Bike cooling system features a thermostatic switched fan on both the oil cooler and water cooled radiator.

I can just imagine what that beautiful Italian V6 sounds like when it roars into life.

Check out this one wheel motorcycle called appropriately the “UNO”. 18 year old Toronto inventor Ben Gulak has spent two years and $45,000 to develop this self balancing electric motorcycle.

Clean and green this one wheeled motorcyle is powered by two electric motors.

Ben designed his unqiue motorcycle with a pair of wheels 1″ apart side iftted into a Yamaha R1 Frame side to  give the ride more stability.

Riding this one wheeled motorbike is very similar to riding a Segway in that it features a pair of gyroscopes to always keep the rifer upright to accelerate the rider leans forward, to go backwards you just lean back and again you lean into a turn. The degree to which you lean increases or decreases your speed

The Uno’s is powered by two wheelchair motors and has a theoreticaltop speed of 40 mph.

In researching this story we also came across another one wheeled motorcycle prototype this time by recreational vehicle manufacturer Bombardier
